Laurel Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park has been serving the Mesquite area community for many years. We’re thankful to be an important part of this community and will continue our longstanding legacy of helping families honor their loved ones.
THE LAUREL OAKS LEGACY
Laurel Oaks has proudly served Dallas and its surrounding communities for more than 70 years. Established by the Bearden family around the nucleus of an old country cemetery, our memorial park traces its roots to Dallas’s earliest settlers. Today, Laurel Oaks remains one of the few memorial parks to allow both artificial and fresh-cut flowers year-round, reflecting our commitment to honoring every life with care and beauty.
In the 1950s, the Bearden family envisioned transforming the ancestral Bennett Family Cemetery into a modern memorial park while preserving the land’s natural beauty and rich heritage. To them, Laurel Oaks was more than a cemetery—it was an ideal. Their promise was to create a peaceful, inspiring place where people would want to visit and linger; a place filled with birds, colorful flowers, and surroundings that uplift the spirit and offer comfort in times of grief—all while remaining affordable and accessible to families from all walks of life.
Today, the Laurel Oaks team, along with a new generation of the founding family, proudly carries on that legacy. What began as a pioneer cemetery has grown into a modern memorial park rooted in tradition—guided by the enduring belief of one family serving another in their time of need
