Willie Mae (Derden) Rogers passed away Friday morning, March 8, 2019 in Forney, Texas. She was born September 24, 1921 in Cryer Creek, Texas to Willie Thomas and Ethel Mae (Massey) Derden. She was 97 years of age.
Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; husband, Lealon L. Rogers; and daughter-in-law, Linda Rogers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory four devoted children, Barbara Rogers Chambers, Betty Rogers Wallace, Alvin Rogers, and Beverly Rogers King; her grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and dear friends.
Ms. Rogers will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother and for her love of traveling.
Ms. Rogers will lie in state from 8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2019 for any visitors to view and sign the register at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. The service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor William D. Wade will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Little Bethel Memorial Park located at 1803 Cedar Hill Rd., Duncanville, TX 75137. Daniel Greene, Jason Greene, Dylan Rogers, Ralph Ross, Scott Sayers, Tillman Strahan, and Bradley Wallace will serve as pallbearers.
