Ms. Wanda Blankenship Parker passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 in Sunnyvale, Texas. She was born December 11, 1931 in Collin County, Texas to Fred Robert and Margaret (Wells) Blankenship. She was 87 years of age.
Ms. Parker was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorea Wallace; brothers, Elvin Blankenship, Archie Blankenship, and Ray Blankenship; and her husband, Willie B. Parker.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Gerald Parker and girlfriend Angie Hollis; her daughter, Vickie Lancaster and husband David of Seagoville, TX; beautiful granddaughters, Amanda McClure and husband Dan of Washington State, Laura Potdar of Garland, TX, Stacie Cash of Seagoville, TX; great grandsons, Alex Cash of Seagoville, TX, Jayden Stockwell and Dayton Stockwell of Dallas, TX.
Ms. Parker will be remembered for taking care of children, her love of flowers, going to church, making the best chocolate and coconut pies, her love for her family, and her love for her best friends, Cathy Kridler and Sarah Barnard.
The family will receive friends in the chapel at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 pm, Friday, March 29, 2019 followed by the service at 1:00. Bro. George Weldon will officiate. Laurel Oaks Funeral Home is located at 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, TX 75180.
Interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
