Fannie Rose Vest, affectionately known as one of the 5 Derden Girls, was born on September 23, 1926 in Cryer Creek, Texas to Willie Thomas Derden and Ethel Mae (Massey) Derden and entered into her eternal home in heaven on March 24, 2018. Fannie was a woman who loved and nurtured her family. She took great care of her parents during their last years of declining health, making sure their needs were always met. Fannie worked for Philco Ford during the 1950’s and demonstrated the use of new appliances at the Texas State Fair. Mrs. Vest then worked for Texas Oil & Gas in their main office as a manager. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, husband E.O. “Ham” Vest, son Harry Vest, sisters Helen, Mary and Norma Jean and brothers Thomas and Johnny David. Mrs. Vest is survived by her son Larry Vest and his wife Dianne Stark, granddaughter Sultana Dianne Vest and her husband Dr. Aaron Hands, sister Willa Mae Rogers and numerous other family. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Jane Guinn for all her faithful support, help and friendship visiting Fannie weekly over many years.
