Billie Taylor Crabtree was born on November 27,1934 and went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2019. She was born in Simms, Texas and moved to Mesquite, Texas where she lived throughout her adult life and raised her children. Billie retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 35 years. They later moved to Balch Springs, Texas where she lived at the time of her death. Her next door neighbor, Ms. Daisy, turned out to be a good friend and they worked together in each other's yards almost every day watering flowers, raking leaves, and picking up tree limbs as that's what seemed to make them happy. In the end before Ms. Daisy passed away, they would just talk on the phone. She also loved talking on the phone, once a week, to her nephew, Peanut. They loved to aggravate each other, especially about the Dallas Cowboys. She read and watched Wheel of Fortune almost every day.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Crabtree; son, James Taylor; mother, Sally Barron Taylor; father, Basil Taylor; sisters, Lucille Carter, Dorothy Belle Carter, and Octavia Capps; and brothers, J.L. Taylor, J.D. Taylor, and Riley Taylor.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Donna Taylor and Johnny, Gary Crabtree, Rickey Hooper and wife Lee Ann, and Rhonda Taylor; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family and dear friends.
