She made us believe that she would live forever. Two days ago she proved us wrong and broke our hearts. Early in the morning on November 14, 2018, Sonja Kay Hill lost her battle with cancer and entered eternal rest at her home surrounded by loving family members. Sonja was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on November 8, 1940. She was the only child of Harvey and Ueita (Holt) Taylor. Sonja grew up primarily in Wilson and Duncan, Oklahoma and she was a 1959 graduate of Duncan High School. She next attended x-ray technology school in Oklahoma City and Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma. In 1969, she married the love of her life, Donald Wayne Hill and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 3, 2019. Sonja was a long time member of the Mesquite Church of Christ as well as the Centerville Church of Christ in Garland, Texas. She possessed an outgoing, larger-than-life personality and she could turn the most insignificant occurrence into a story that could evoke uproarious laughter. Christmas was the holiday that she cherished above all others and she loved nothing better than bestowing gifts on her children and grandchildren. For her, Christmas was all about giving. Sonja is survived by her husband Donald Wayne Hill; her daughter, Miosha Hill; her sons, John Hill and wife Sylvia, Michael Hill and wife Cindy; as well as her grand-children, Jennifer and Lewis, Andie, Keelie, and Chett.
