Lottie Faye Soules Morris died peacefully on June 18, 2019. She was the last surviving of eleven children of James Fowler Soules and Margaret Emily Boykin, central Texas ranchers. She was born in Hamilton County and lived in Star, TX all of her childhood. Lottie was 90.
After graduating high school, Lottie came to Dallas and attended Draughon Business School. In Dallas, Lottie found her true love, Bill Morris, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage until his death in 1988. After working at Montgomery Ward, Nash Motors, and BlueCross BlueShield, Lottie decided to stay at home and raise her children Emily and Jim. Their home was always open and welcoming to family, friends, and neighbors. Lottie was active in the PTA and even received a Lifetime Membership. After Emily and Jim were in school, Lottie became the bookkeeper for Hill Optical (where she joined Bill), and also kept books for her brother-in-law's "egg house" in Dallas. After her retirement, she worked part-time for American Greetings and L'eggs.
Lottie enjoyed many trips with her family and friends, especially to the casinos, where she could play the penny slots. She stayed social in later years, playing cards and games with friends. She is survived by daughter Emily Morris Tosch and husband Terry; son Jim Morris; grandchildren Breanne Morris, Lindsey Tosch, Jeremy Tosch and wife Becky; great-grandson Caleb Tosch; as well as many friends, numerous nieces and nephews, and their families.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church.
