Lorene Stanglin Peters was born on September 11, 1928 in Lawson, Tx. to Ed and Viola Herd Stanglin. She went to be with our Lord on July 15, 2018. Lorene grew up on a farm helping work the cotton fields (that she hated) and tended to a few cows and chickens. In later years she worked as an elevator operator at the phone company, also worked at Borden Milk Company and Lee Optical to help take her mind off her son serving in Vietnam. She was introduced to her future husband by his cousin Jimmy Lee at the age of sixteen. Lorene married Melvin in 1946 at the age of 18 and had her baby boy a year later. Five years later she gave birth to her daughter Jeannie. She was a wonderful mother and wife. Mrs. Peters was a scout den mother, homeroom mom and PTA President's wife. She worked hard as a house wife keeping a very tidy house and providing love for her family. Lorene was there for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but is now united with her loving husband in heaven along with numerous family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin T. Peters, parents Ed and Viola Herd Stanglin, brothers Edward and Carl Stanglin and daughter-in-law Kathie Ulrich Peters. Lorene is survived by son Ronnie Peters; daughter Jeannie Gullion and husband Ronald; sister Marie Peters, sister-in-law Joyce Keller and husband Nolen; grandchildren Shera DeMay and husband Mark; Sonya Bell and husband Joe; Ann Freeman and husband Scott; Jonathan Gullion and Matthew Gullion and wife Nora.
