Lois (Higgins) Talley

May 14, 1947 ~ December 5, 2018 (age 71)

Lois Higgins Talley was born May 14th 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and on December the 5th 2018 at the age of 71 she received a call, a sort of an "offer you can't refuse", for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This offer comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time, where she will be socializing, drinking Dr. Pepper, gardening and watching HGTV to her heart's content.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Smith Higgins and Edith Della Higgins from Alabama, her husband Roy Talley from Georgia, and her daughter Melissa Talley Romo from Dallas, Texas, and her brothers; Edward Higgins, Everett Higgins and Jimmy Higgins, from Alabama.

Lois is survived by her sister, Joyce Bogan of Combine, Texas and her two daughters; Christina White of Forney, Texas and Angela Magee of Mesquite, Texas. Her six grandchildren; Valencia Barrera, Joshua Cortez, Brittany Magee, Brandi Magee, Brandon Magee and MiEbony White, and three Great Grandchildren, Madison Cortez, Joshua Cortez II and Arabella Cortez. And a host of nieces and nephews who she raised like her own and cousins and in-laws Whether you referred to her as Momma, 'Sis' , 'Granny' or just Miss Lois, she left and impression on you. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Even though she was a little woman, she loved BIG. She was hard working and loyal, in fact up until her illness, she worked at Balch Springs nursing home for more than 20 plus years. If ever you were in need of something, she wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand. And if you were ever in trouble she would be right there as well... She would give you a piece of her mind first, but never the less, she would help you out.

She loved the Lord, her family and friends and her Dr Pepper, and that love will carry us, no matter how painful, through this great loss.
