Kathleen Naomi Mixon, age 76, of Mesquite, Texas went to be with the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, June 28, 2019. Mrs. Mixon was born October 15, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Calais Jackson Carter and Louise Lucretia Gould Carter.
Kathleen was affectionately known to family and friends as "1/4 inch Kathy". Kathy retired from J.C. Penny corporate office. Kathy also was an independent sales representative for Home Interiors for over 20 years. When a picture was crooked she always asked for us to move it just a "1/4 inch". She was a woman who loved the Lord, family, coffee, and shopping. Although the pain reminds us she's gone, her memory and spirit will live on in us all, everyday.
She was preceded in death by her parents Calais Jackson Carter and Louise Lucretia Gould Carter, brothers Cal, Billy. Sisters Virginia Clark and Dorothy Carter. Husband James William Mixon of over 45 years. Son, Jeffrey Craige Hoops. Surviving family members include son William Edgar Hoops III and Larrie Jane Lindsey Hoops of Mesquite, TX, daughter Tammy Annette Vent and Kenneth Rumsey of Gun Barrell, TX, daughter-in-law Judy Lynn Hoops of Sanger, TX, step daughter Monica and Bill Martin of Dangerfield, TX. Kathy was a pivotal role in the lives of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grand children. Many nephews, nieces, and life time friends.
