Edgar Alejandro Tobar of Dallas, Texas released his spirit to heaven on June 15, 2018. Mr. Tobar was born on August 11, 1946 in Guatemala City, Guatemala and came to the U.S. in 1969. As a young man Edgar played professional soccer in his native Guatemala. He began working in Chicago for 10 years at an area hospital. Edgar then came to Texas where he earned a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Dallas County Community College. He was a true handyman around the house and there wasn't a thing he couldn't repair with his tools in hand. Mr. Tobar worked a number of years as a machinist working for Delta Steel and making parts for prosthetics in aiding those who had become disabled. He was a voracious reader of books enjoying especially those about history. Mr. Tobar also enjoyed the History Chanel. Edgar was also captivated by the early days of rock music and delighted in listening to such bands as Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and Santana. Mr. Tobar is survived by his mother Zoila De La Paz, 3 daughters Ligia Tobar Gutierrez and husband Michael, Selenne Paredes and husband Jason, Iris Tobar, the mother of his daughters Zoila Tobar, 6 grandchildren Christopher, Nicole, Diego, Gaby, Daniela and Preston, sister Carolina Tobar and husband Rolando Davila and numerous nieces and nephews.
