Charles Trantham

August 16, 1944 ~ September 18, 2019 (age 75)

We are here to honor the life of Charles Ray Trantham. He was born August 16, 1944 in Mesquite, Texas to Roy Chester and Doris Jean (Lankford) Trantham. . He died peacefully at the Willow Bend Retirement Center in Mesquite, Texas on September 18, 2019 at the age of 75.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lois Trantham, Doris & Bob Kafka,sister Margie Ann Brown, son Terry Ray Trantham and granddaughter Amanda Trantham.

Charles is survived by his wife, Cheri Trantham, his daughter, Bobbie Jean Trantham, his daughter-in-law, Donna Trantham, and his remaining five grandchildren, Heather & Bobby Hughes, Christopher & Christina Trantham,,Tiffany & Chris Conner, Alysha Helpenstell & Alex, Matthew Trantham & Katie as well as six great-grandchildren, Tori Harris , Gracie Hughes, Rilie Conner , Lily Heller, Baylie Conner and Karlie Conner, his half brother, David Roy Trantham, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

All who knew Charles will remember him as a kind man who encouraged them to always do their best and to constantly pursue their goals. Charles was an accomplished outdoorsman and often could be found hunting or fishing. When not enjoying the outdoors Charles could be found playing his guitar while serving the Lord at the Tripp Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Mentor and Friend. He was a generous individual who loved life. He was always ready to share a story or tell a tall tale. He was a very humorous person.

In this time of mourning, Charles would be the first to remind us not to be sad but to rejoice for he knew where he was going. He now sits at the right hand of our Lord and Saviour. He will be missed by many.

A memorial service for Charles will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Tripp Baptist Church located at 401 E. Tripp Rd., Sunnyvale, TX 75182. Following the service, please stay and join the family for a meal.
