Beatrice Joye Kahler passed away Sunday evening, January 5, 2020 at her Dallas, Texas residence. She was born August 5, 1928 in Post, Texas to Oscar Raymond and Lillie Agnes (Amundson) Evans. She was 91 years of age.
Joye was raised in Buckholts, Texas and graduated from Buckholts High School. She was married to Gordon Vince Kahler and together they had two sons.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and going to Church. She was a long time member of Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church-Urbandale, both in Dallas, Texas. Her family and friends will always remember her as a friendly, outgoing and very loving person who never met a stranger. She was loved by all who knew her!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillie Evans; her husband, Gordon Kahler; son, Edwin Wayne Kahler; brothers, Arthur and Alvis; and sisters, Fern, Bonnie and Shirley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Ronnie Gordon Kahler; daughter-in-law, Janice Kahler Pedersoli and husband Frank; grandson, Mike Kahler and wife Kristan; granddaughter, Stephanie Black and husband Jon; grandson, Mark Kahler and wife Jennifer; and granddog, Izzie. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters, Alexis Brooke Kahler and Chloe Ann Kahler; great-grandson, Caleb Mark Kahler; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors who loved her dearly!
Services for Joye will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home located at 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, TX 75180. The family will begin receiving friends for a time of visitation and a viewing at 12:00 p.m. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, there will be a short procession to Laurel Oaks Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest in Sunrise Gardens beside her husband, Gordon Vince Kahler, who preceded her in death in 1971.
