Alieth Harris went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the age of 87. Alieth was born February 2, 1931 in Upshur County to Andrew and Ethel Blundell. She graduated Valedictorian from Union Hill High School in 1948. She married the love of her life Kenneth July 3, 1948. “Nan” took great pride in being a homemaker, taking care of her family, her yard and flowers. Mrs. Harris had been an active member of the Mesquite Chapter 887 Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Kenneth in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Arlene Luttrell and her husband Steve of Sunnyvale, her daughter Linda Shaw and her husband Larry of Glen Rose, her granddaughter Valerie Mayad and her husband Mike, her granddaughter Kimberly Penney and her husband David, her grandson Mike Shaw and his wife Cindy, her six great grandchildren Jackson Mayad, Cooper Mayad, Avery Davis, Aubrey Penney, Kaley Shaw and Hayden Shaw, her sister Pauline James and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate her remarkable life will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain Kimberly Morgan officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mayad, David Penney, Jackson Mayad, Cooper Mayad, Aubrey Penney and Hayden Shaw. Memorial donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association.
