James “Jim” Robert Braswell, 88 years old, was born in Texarkana, Arkansas December 12, 1928 to Rich and Gladys Braswell. Jim passed away peacefully September 14, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He leaves a legacy to cherish his memories including his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary John Lawrence Braswell; sons, David Robert Braswell and Lawrence Rich Braswell; daughters, Mary Hoback and Naomi Webb & husband, William; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Jim, a great father figure, dedicated much of his life to bringing many to know the love of Christ as a Church of Christ minister. He provided a wonderful life for his family, striving to be the best he could be for them. Jim drove for Continental Trailways and Greyhound Busline until retirement, the company honored Jim by gracing the side of a bus with his name. He proudly accepted the Million Mile Safety Award, after never having any accidents over a million miles. Jim was an accomplished horseman and continued to work after retiring to keep busy. Family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to funeral service. Funeral Service will begin 10:30 A.M. at Christian Care Center Auditorium in Mesquite, Texas, 900 Wiggins Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75150, September 20, 2017.
